Scene: A secret lab under the city. M-chan is trapped in a containment room. Beter sneaks in through a vent.
M-chan: Beter?! You came!
Beter (panting): Of course I did. I got your mobile signal. I’ve been tracing it for hours.
M-chan: Be careful! There’s something alive in here… like a weird parasite. It attached itself to one of the scientists.
Beter: Great. Creepy alien goo again. Why is it always a parasite?
M-chan: I think it’s affecting their brain. One of them tried to diagnose me with some mutation just by scanning my blood!
Beter (checking the control panel): Okay, this tech looks advanced but unstable. I might have to improvise.
M-chan: Just hurry! I’m getting really anxious in here!
Beter: I know, I know! I’m trying not to be impatient, but this system is coded in some kind of alien math.
M-chan: Can you modify it?
Beter: Possibly. If I reroute the enzyme regulation system here… yep, got it! That will block the creature’s control enzyme.
M-chan: You actually understand all this?
Beter: Only in a theoretical way. I read a paper once. And saw a sci-fi movie. Okay, mostly the movie.
M-chan (laughs nervously): You’re such a nerd… but the best nerd.
Beter: That’s why I got nominated for “Most Likely to Save the World” in high school.
M-chna: Really?
Beter (grinning): No. That was Flash. But I like to think I had more… integrity.
M-chan: Definitely. Now open the door, hero.
Beter: The door’s locked with a granite-reinforced shield. I’m gonna need to punch it. Hard.
M-chan: Beter, that’s crazy.
Beter (tightens web-shooters): I’m being decisive, not crazy. Stand back.
—Beter smashes through the door with a web-powered punch. The shield cracks open.
M-chan: Remind me never to block your way again.
Beter: Noted. Let’s get out of here before that thing wakes up.

シーン：街の地下にある秘密の研究所。Mちゃんが密室に閉じ込められている。ビーターが通気口からこっそり侵入する。
Mちゃん：ビーター？！来てくれたのね！
ビーター（息を切らしながら）：もちろんだよ。君の携帯の信号を受け取って、ずっと追ってたんだ。
Mちゃん：気をつけて！ここに何か生き物がいるの…変な寄生生物みたいな。科学者の一人に取りついたのよ。
ビーター：またかよ。気持ち悪いエイリアンの液体って、なぜいつも寄生生物なんだよ。
Mちゃん：しかも脳に影響を与えてるっぽいの。その一人が、私の血をスキャンして突然「変異だ」って診断しようとしてきたの！
ビーター（制御パネルを調べながら）：この装置、すごくハイテクだけど不安定だな。ちょっと即興でやるしかないかも。
Mちゃん：お願い、早くして！ここにいると本当に不安でたまらない！
ビーター：わかってる、わかってる！せっかちにならないようにしてるけど、このシステム、なんかエイリアンの数学でできてるみたいなんだよ！
Mちゃん：それって改造できるの？
ビーター：たぶんね。この酵素制御システムをこっちに切り替えれば…よし、できた！これであの生き物のコントロール酵素をブロックできる。
Mちゃん：それを理解してるって本気で言ってるの？
ビーター：理論上はね。論文を読んだことがある。あと、SF映画で見た。…まあ、映画がメインだけど。
Mちゃん（不安げに笑いながら）：本当にオタクね…でも最高のオタク。
ビーター：だから高校では「世界を救いそうな人」にノミネートされたんだよ。
Mちゃん：本当に？
ビーター（にやりと笑って）：いや、それはフラッシュだった。でも僕の方がきっと…誠実さはあったと思う。
Mちゃん：間違いないわ。じゃあ早く開けて、ヒーローさん。
ビーター：扉は花崗岩で強化されてる…これは殴るしかない。
Mちゃん：ビーター、それって無謀すぎるわ。
ビーター（ウェブシューターを装着しながら）：違うよ、これは決断力ってやつ。下がってて。
—ビーターがウェブ・パンチで扉を破壊する。シールドがバリバリと割れる。
Mちゃん：今後、あなたの行く手をふさがないようにするわ。
ビーター：了解。それより、あいつが起きる前に脱出しよう。
